Advanced Coaching Courses
Whether you’re a community coach looking to take the next step or an experienced coach looking to learn new tricks, the advanced coaching pathway offers even the most proficient coach a learning experience.
The Advanced Pathway is for coaches of 11-a-side football, coaching teams of talented players from U-13 upwards. It is totally concerned with the ‘Game Training’ and ‘Performance’ phases of the FFA National Football Curriculum ‘Building Blocks’.
- The C Licence is recommended for all senior amateur coaches in Tasmania.
- The B Licence is for top amateur team coaches and state team coaches.
- The A Licence and Pro Diploma are for for semi-professional and professional team coaches and beyond.
There are also specialised goalkeeper coaching and football conditioning licences available at a national level.

FFA/AFC B Licence
As a part of the FFT Coach Development activities in 2018 we will hold an FFA Advanced B licence course in Tasmania for the first time. The ‘B’ Licence is for coaches of Top Amateur, Elite Youth and State Teams who hold the FFA/ AFC ‘C’ Licence or have a recognised accepted UEFA ‘C’ or AFC ‘C’ Licence after completing Form 9.
This course is open to coaches 18 years of age and older focusing on the 11 v 11 aspects of the game. Candidates will be able to analyse football and apply the FFA Vision and Philosophy in the Game Training Model.
The dates for the course are as follows:
Please note that these dates are designed to limit the amount of time coaches will need to take away from their regular employment. It will mean that coaches may need to forego active participation with any teams with which they are coaching during these times.
This course will only run with a minimum of 12 participants.
The course is the second step on the FFA pathway to become a professional coach. Needless to say if you have completed your FFA/AFC ‘C’ Licence in Australia you will be familiar with all elements of the National Curriculum, The FFA Team Model and the Coach Expertise Model. However, if the ‘B’ Licence is the first course you have taken with the FFA or the first course recently, then you need to become familiar with the FFA course content. We recommend that all candidates make sure they are fully familiar with the documents outlined below.
- The National Football Curriculum
- The Football Coaching Process
The cost of the course, including apparel, is $2420.00.
PAYMENT IS REQUIRED WITHIN 7 DAYS OF REGISTRATION. FAILURE TO MAKE PAYMENT WITHIN THE 7 DAY PERIOD WILL LEAD TO AUTOMATIC WITHDRAWAL.
