Football Federation Tasmania regrets to advise that following an investigation, three clubs have been found in breach of FFT Summer Cup Eligibility Rules from the weekend’s games.

The rules governing player eligibility (2.0 Player Eligibility) state “to be eligible to compete in a final, a player must have played at least one match in that Division during the round robin.” Section 2.0.1 Penalty For Breach of Player Restriction rules states “Where a club is to be in breach of the Player Eligibility rules, the offending team will be deemed to have lost the match by forfeit and will be fined $200 per offence.”

As per section 2.0.1 of the Summer Cup Rules, Olympia FC Warriors (Women’s) and Beachside, South Hobart (Under 18’s) have been found in breach of these rules and are deemed to have lost their Semi Final matches by forfeit. They will now be ineligible to take their place in the respective Cup Finals.

As a result, FFT now confirms the following Cup Finals.

Women’s

Friday 9 March

Hobart Zebras v South Hobart, 7pm, KGV

Under 18’s

Sunday 11 March

Hobart Zebras v Kingborough, 4:00pm, KGV

Note an earlier version of this announcement had Beachside competing in the Under 18 final, it was since discovered they were also in breach of the same rules.
