Talent Support Program (TSP)

About the Talent Support Program

Football Tasmania has TSP training centres based in the three regions, the TSP forms a key part of Football Federation Australia’s National Talented Player Pathway.

This is aimed at assisting with the development of players to standards where they can be considered for the U17 National Team (The Joeys and Junior Matildas) or, at a future point, National Youth League clubs or W-League squads.

The main focus is to support the identified footballers in the advancement of their game knowledge, skills and understanding through a high performance training and match environment. This environment generally consists of extra training or matches on top of regular club commitments.

The Football Tasmania TSP is overseen by Michael Edwards (FT Technical Director). Michael is a highly accredited and experienced coach with international coaching experience and he has worked at National Teams level in Australia.

Both the male and female programs are governed by the FFA and FT and are supported by the Tasmanian Government through Sport and Recreation Tasmania.
